And we not only beheld him, but in His grace we are able to testify of Him and lead others to Him. And we do this not only with words, but also by the incarnation of truth. Just as Jesus became flesh we are able to take His truths and incarnate them for our children.
Teaching my children about the Lord was my greatest joy! And now it starts anew with the grandchildren. Of course, Heather and Rich have the responsibility and primary joy, but I am so appreciative that I have the opportunity to participate with them.
This year we once again painted eggs. We had family dinner on Thursday night – and then we got out the eggs, the vineagar and the colors. And I think Xander remembered from last year ……. He knew just what we were going to do and got into it.
Does he understand anything about how the egg can represent the trinity… or the death of Christ? (His body was broken that we can receive His life, as the egg shell is broken so we can receive the nutrients inside.) No, but he certainly understands the joy, the beautiful colors and the happiness we have in this season. And he will carry this happiness into the celebration of the resurrection as he grows older and understands.
After painting the eggs we put together the resurrection scene. Now this was new – and though he is very young Xander understood a lot. He put everyone to sleep – not just the Roman Guards, and he rolled away the stone and then applauded that Jesus is alive.
Yes! Our faith is not just words or beliefs or even heart attitudes. But it is incarnated in our lives, in the lives of our children, in our life together. Our Faith is based in his continuing incarnation. The body is no longer in the tomb. He is alive.

Thank you for all you and Dad do as you invest yourselves in the lives of my children!
Mom, you reminded me of many wonderful Easter memories growing up--and now you are creating them with Xander!
